Chevy High Performance have released a video of a 2014 C7 Chevrolet Corvette breaking 200mph for the first time. If you feel the need for speed, you need to watch this.

On December 11th (2013), Hennessey Performance founder, John Hennessey, armed with a 600 horsepower C7 Corvette, set out on Houston's Grand Parkway (also Texas State Hwy 99) to put the pedal to the metal. He did have a little help from his friend nitrous, but 200mph is some serious speed however you get to it.

It seems the cops were cool with it too. In fact, they shut down the highway specifically for the stunt. Talk about having money. Who gets the cops to shut down a highway to haul some serious tail?

Anyway, the Texas DPS also had a chance to test their new radar system which not only recorded the over 200mph speed, but also proved they could snap a shot of your license plate at those speeds.

So, word to the wise, if you're going over 200mph, cover your license plate. No, wait. That's not right. I mean, rent a highway or something.

What is the fastest car you've ever driven?
