The 14th annual Mission: Thanksgiving will be held Friday, November 16th at Arrow Ford, 4001 South 1st Street in Abilene. This is an amazing one-day event that brings the community together for a common cause: to help the less fortunate in Abilene, with contributions going to Loving Care Ministries. Several items, including clothes, food, sleeping bags and blankets, personal hygiene items and winter accessories, or cash donations will be accepted.

This year's event promises to be the biggest in its history, and for the first time, the Ford Motor Company is getting involved. If you go to Arrow Ford on Saturday, November 17th between 8:00am and 6:00pm and test drive a selected vehicle, Ford will make a cash donation to Mission: Thanksviging. Check out our radio interview with Brook Bailey from Arrow Ford for all the information.

More Information

Over the past 13 years, Abilene has been remarkable in blessing the homeless and poor through Mission: Thanksgiving. The 2011 drive filled up 14 semi-trailers and raised over $140,000.00. 5,500 vehicles drove through Arrow Ford to donate in just one day. In spite of the overwhelming response, all donations collected for 2011 were distributed within 11 months.

One of the ways people and businesses can help is by becoming a community sponsor. Sponsors have given anywhere from $500 to $10,000. But always remember that any donation is a blessing to the poor and homeless of Abilene.
