It is time that we all start talking about putting greatest hitter in the history of baseball in the Hall of Fame. Yep, Pete Rose deserves to be in Cooperstown.

ESPN is reporting that a notebook has been found that proves that Rose not only bet on baseball, but did it while he was a player. I guess it was a slow news day for ESPN because, honestly, who cares? Rose deserves to be in Cooperstown, period.

In my opinion, if steroid users get suspended for several games, but can still come back, then why in the heck is Pete Rose still even banned from the game of baseball?

I just don't get it. I know that Rose made some mistakes. But, we all have. And, I truly believe that everybody deserves a second chance even after making a mistake. Rose never got a second chance. The league just straight up told the dude he's out forever for betting on the game. Yet, steroid users are getting a slap on the wrist compared to what happened to Pete Rose.

Ryan Braun, A-Rod, and others have taken one of the greatest sports in history, and have tarnished it by juicing up.

Rose just bet on baseball. He didn't juice up, yet had these amazing numbers.

Pete Rose Career Stats

  • All-time Major League leader in hits with 4,256
  • Games played (3,562)
  • At Bats (14,053)
  • Won three World Series rings
  • Won three batting titles
  • One Most Valuable Player Award
  • Two Gold Gloves
  • Rookie of the Year Award
  • 17 All-Star appearances in 5 different positions

Those numbers are very worthy of being enshrined forever. I'm not saying what he did was right. But, with so many other players doing, what I believe, far worse things in the game of baseball, why is it still such a big deal for Rose to still be banned and not have bust of himself in Cooperstown.
