Other than losing their best running back to a rival team, and signing a troubled defensive end, the Dallas Cowboys have been pretty quiet in free agency this year. Let's take a look at the moves they have made so far.

Obviously, the biggest moves by far for the Cowboys is losing Demarco Murray to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the signing of former Carolina Panthers defensive end, Greg Hardy.

Here's a look at what else the Cowboys have done in free agency this year.

Lost

  • LB Justin Durant - Atlanta Falcons
  • LB Bruce Carter - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • DT Henry Melton - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • CB Sterling Moore - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • RT Jermey Parnell - Jacksonville Jaguars
  • RB DeMarco Murray - Philadelphia Eagles
  • DE George Selvie - New York Giants
  • WR Dwayne Harris -  New York Giants

Added

  • DE Greg Hardy  - Signed one year, $11.3 million contract – The former Carolina Panther is a beast. But, will his off the field issues come back to haunt the Cowboys?
  • LB Jasper Brinkley - Signed two years, $6 million contract – A solid linebacker that adds depth to the position.
  • LB Andrew Gachkar  -Signed two years $5.2 million contract – Has excellent special teams abilities.
  • RB Darren McFadden  - Signed two years, $3 million contract – Didn’t have a stellar career in Oakland, but, does still have great speed and should do well behind the best offensive line in football.
  • FB Jed Collins – Signed  one year, $810,000 contract – Collins is one of two fullbacks signed so far.  His versatility should be a strength to a team that hasn’t featured a fullback in years.

Retained

  • WR Dez Bryant - franchise tag, $12.823 million
  • RT Doug Free - three years, $15 million
  • WR Cole Beasley - four years, $13.6 million
  • DT Nick Hayden - one year, $745,000
  • P Chris Jones - one year, $1.542 million
  • RB Lance Dunbar - one year, $1.542 million

Remaining

  • LB Rolando McClain  - If McClain wants big money, he’ll more than likely not be on the roster this coming season
  • DE Anthony Spencer  - Spencer has always done well as a Cowboy, and the team wants him to stay. But, once again, money talks.
  • FB Tyler Clutts - The additions of two younger fullbacks is probably a sign he will not return.
  • OT Tony Hills - With Parnell gone, Hill becomes an option to compete for a backup spot.
  • S C.J. Spillman - His special team skills might land him on a different team.
  • LB James Anderson – Was added for depth, but since the signing of other linebackers, probably won’t be back.

That's a look at what the Cowboys have done in free agency so far this year. Do you like these moves or do you think Dallas could do much better?
