We can finally talk football, now that there's going to be a season. The Dallas Cowboys secured left tackle Doug Free, signing him to a four year deal at $32 million on Tuesday (July 26th). Free is especially important to the Cowboys because he protects Tony Romo's blind side. The Cowboys are reportedly working on deals for Jason Hatcher and Stephen Bowen. Dallas still needs some help on the offensive line. They are planning to release right guard Leonard Davis and they'll need to re-sign left guard Kyle Kosier.

In moves that might surprise some of us Cowboys fans, today (Thursday, July 28th), the Cowboys will officially release running back Marion Barber and receiver Roy Williams. Both of those cuts were pretty big surprises to me, but they were a big part of reducing the salary cap for the 'Boys by over $16 million. The Cowboys are also said to be targeting players from other teams to shore up both sides of the ball for the 2011 season.

Training camp is officially underway as of yesterday (July 27th). Man, it feels good to say that! (via msn.FoxSports.com)
