The Washington State Department of Health, along with the Washington State Dental Commission, have suspended a Spokane dentist's license for allegations he performed a procedure on a patient while under the influence of drugs.

According to the Commission, Ryan C. Allen was performing a procedure on a sedated patient on August 6th of this year, when he left the room several times to, according to, support staff, go to the bathroom.

However, after he failed to return, clinic staff at his practice found him lying on the bathroom floor in a dazed state. According to the Commission, Allen had self-injected a dose of propofol, a powerful narcotic that's used in sedation dentistry, and the SAME drug that killed Michael Jackson.

Both his license to practice, and his general anesthesia permit have been revoked until the charges against him are resolved.
