You guys, Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut finally has a release date, you guys. Also, Eidos Montreal is working on a next-gen Deus Ex!

We've known about the Director's Cut for some time, but we never had a concrete release date from Eidos Montreal. Well, now it's official. The revised version, including all the downloadable content and some new features (as shown in the trailer above), will hit the Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Oct. 22.

More importantly however, Eidos Montreal announced its future plans for the Deus Ex franchise on its official blog. "The concept behind Deus Ex: Universe is to create an ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games," David Anfossi wrote. In addition to PC and console games, the developer is planning more mobile, graphic novel and regular novel content for the franchise.

Part of that future also includes a new next generation title, which is already in development. "I’m pleased to confirm that we are already into production of the starting point for Deus Ex: Universe with a new game for PC and next-generation consoles," Anfossi said. "We’re very excited about it at the studio and I wanted to let you know that most of the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already working hard on this new game."

We've only got a bit of concept art from the upcoming game to hold us over until more details become available, but Human Revolution revitalized the franchise, and we can't wait for more Deus Ex down the line.
