It was 35 years ago (January 15th, 1977) that the 'Hotel California' album by the Eagles hit Number One.  The title track still stands up as a pinnacle for the band.  You could arguably say it's the Eagles' 'Stairway To Heaven'.  It's just one of those epic, defining songs.

The album yielded two Number One singles.  The title track featuring Don Henley on lead vocals, and 'New Kid In Town' with Glenn Frey out front on vocals.  The third single release 'Life In The Fast Lane' just missed hitting the Top Ten, peaking at number 11.

The album is also notable because it's the first Eagles album to feature Joe Walsh.  He joined after the departure of Bernie Leadon.  It would be the final Eagles album that Randy Meisner played on too.  So you really did have a power packed band.  Especially when you consider that Don Felder shared lead guitar.
