Ellen DeGeneres Goes Brunette for April Fool’s Day – Photo of the Week

Inspired by Reese Witherspoon's new brunette locks, Ellen DeGeneres decided to use this April Fool's day to also test out a brown-hued 'do, although hers was 100 percent removable because that's how wigs and/or Photoshop work.

DeGeneres tweeted the photo of herself alongside a snap of Witherspoon with the caption, "Reese Witherspoon isn't the only one who's gone brunette."

This joke of course fooled almost no one (except the most gullible) seeing as how the internet is on high alert for pranks and tomfoolery on the 1st of April.

As a reverse prank on April 2, she clarified the picture, writing, "Okay, so I didn't dye my hair brown. That was an April Fools' joke. I dyed it red."

Along with that she included a photoshopped version of the original shot with ginger locks and a framed photo of Marcia Cross -- which seemed to fool more people.
