Elvis Presley's 'Great Performances' DVDs are out now (August 2nd). The 1990 collections have been remastered and include bonus features, including previously unseen interviews with Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Scotty Moore, and Milton Berle. Pictured here is the original cover art. The new edition will have an updated cover.

This two-disc collection really does feature Elvis' finest moments on film and in video. It's a 'greatest hits' for sure, but it's much more than that. The performances themselves are taken from early live performances, latter day live performances, and film performances from numerous Elvis Presley movies. They are carefully selected, and in my opinion, represent the pure musical talent of Elvis better than any archive out there.

The discs are divided into two distinct volumes. Volume 1 (disc one) is titled 'Center Stage' and features live performances throughout Elvis' career. Volume 2 (disc two) is titled 'The Man And His Music', and takes a more personal look at the private side of Elvis, with more stellar songs from movies, and a lot of video from home movies, army days, and rarities that show more of his personality and family life.
