Ghost are set to put out their fourth album, Prequelle, on June 1, but before that, they're embarking on a U.S. tour. Their trek began last night (May 4) with a surprise show at the Roxy in West Hollywood, Calif., where they premiered two songs from the new work, "Faith" and Dance Macabre." You can check out the video below.

According to Blabbermouth, the date had been announced on Thursday and fans were only able to purchase tickets for $6.66 on Friday by stopping by a pop-up shop at the 500-capacity club. They opened the 10-song set with "Rats," another Prequelle track that was released last month along with the news of the album. The rest of the set was comprised of three songs from 2015's Melioria, three from their debut Opus Eponymous and one song, the closer "Square Hammer," stemming from the 2016 Popestar EP.

They will play tonight at Riverside Live in Riverside, Calif., and wrap up on June 1 at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul. You can see all the dates here.

Earlier this week, frontman Tobias Forge revealed that the new songs were inspired in part by the political tensions between the U.S. and Russia. “What happens, without going too political, is the populations of all these countries become the children when the parents are fighting," he said. "It obviously affects everything – it affects the stock market, it affects the general well-being – so there's this sort of pre-apocalyptic aura in our thinking.”
