The 'Godzilla' reboot has been making some waves -- we reported not long ago that Aaron Johnson is in talks for the lead role, and now Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston are in talks to face the giant lizard, too.

According to Variety, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston are in talks to join the cast of the upcoming 'Godzilla' reboot, helmed by Gareth Edwards ('Monsters'). The film recently brought Frank Darabont ('The Mist') in for a rewrite of the script, which bodes well for the film's tone.

Aaron Johnson is in talks to play the lead in the film, though sources say no deals will be made until the finished script has been turned in. Production company Legendary is working hard to make sure the film can still begin production in March, as originally scheduled, though with rewrites and no actors firmly committed, things were starting to look dim for the film, which has been slated for a May 2014 release.

If all goes well, Johnson, Olsen, and Cranston are a trio we'd love to see alongside one of cinema history's most famed monsters. Cranston is currently wrapping up the final season of 'Breaking Bad,' while Johnson is filming 'Kick-Ass 2' for release this year. Olsen can be seen in Spike Lee's upcoming remake of 'Oldboy,' scheduled to hit theaters this fall.
