So you want a new character for your favorite Middle-earth multiplayer online battle arena? Well, Radagast the Brown is coming to town!

Monolith and Guardians of Middle-Earth are adding a new hero to the ranks. This time you'll have access to Radagast the Brown, who is known for his affinity with forest creatures and his love of mushrooms. This member of the Maiar acts as an Enchanter in the game and can prove to be a boon in a fight against many enemy forces.

Some of his abilities include:

  • Vibrant Glade: +Attack Speed, Reduced Controlling Effects.
  • Blackbird Song: Deals True Damage and Blinds Enemy Guardians and Creatures.
  • Whispering Leaves: Deals Ability Damage, briefly Silences.
  • Roots of Greenwood: Roots Enemies, slows and deals Ability Damage.

As you can see from the trailer below, he's quite lively in his approach and calls for the aid of his forest friends often. Radagast is available as downloadable content for Xbox Live today, but PlayStation players will have to wait for his release.

Players should also know that they'll be able to compete in a challenge called "The One Road" this weekend. Whoever gets the "Most Wins On a One-Lane Map" from February 1st, 2013 through February 3rd, 2013 will win 500 experience points, 20,000 Gold, and three Mithril-level items for use in the game. Maybe good ol' Radagast can help you get there?

Check out his trailer and let us know what you think of the Brown one!
