Helen Mirren Atones for Her Decidedly Un-Queenly Outburst With a Sassy Homemade Shirt [PHOTOS, VIDEOS]

Dame Helen Mirren made headlines on Saturday (May 4) when she stormed out of a London performance of her play 'The Audience' dressed like Queen Elizabeth II to yell at some drummers on the street whose cacophony could be heard inside the theater.

While we thought the whole thing was pretty damned funny, she leaves a trail of sass -- and class -- wherever she goes. And this time, she actually wore it on her person.

The original incident occurred when a crowd of drummers promoting As One in the Park, an upcoming London LGBT festival, did their thing -- either without realizing a performance was taking place inside the theater, or not realizing their joyous noise would reach the people inside.

As a result, Mirren ran outside the venue and began hurling F-bombs.

“She said people had paid ‘a lot of f---ing money’ to watch her show and that we were ‘f---ing ruining it’,” said Joe O’Leary, one of the drummers. “It was strange to see this little woman in tiara and pearls shouting like that. It’s not the behaviour you’d expect from the Queen.”

Dame Helen herself later explained, "I was very upset, I was very cross. I had just spent 10 minutes on stage trying to allow the audience to hear what I was saying, which was sort of impossible. I was steaming."

But normally, she explained, she would have been right there with them celebrating -- so she adorably walked around in public yesterday (May 6) while wearing a homemade T-shirt promoting the As One in the Park event, decorated with a drum and the phrase, "Yes please! Just not outside a theatre!"
