On the heels of news that we'll be seeing the first full trailer for Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' attached to 'Godzilla' when it hits theaters on May 16, we now also have the first official poster for the sci-fi epic, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Actually, it's a little disquieting.

While we wait anxiously to see the new trailer, you can take a look at the first 'Interstellar' poster below, featuring a tagline that is simultaneously inspiring and sort of foreboding: "Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here." You can puzzle over what that means until we catch the trailer on May 16 in front of 'Godzilla,' although knowing Nolan's enigmatic style, it's likely we won't really figure it out until we see the film in its entirety.

The official synopsis:

'Interstellar' chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.

The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley and Topher Grace, and hits theaters on November 17.
