Kings of Leon Bus Incident Leaves Drummer With Broken Ribs

Although it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been, a recent road incident left Kings of Leon forced to postpone at least one scheduled date on their current tour.

As the band told followers on its Facebook page, the Kings were headed to their hotel following a show in Boston the night of Aug. 9 when a pedestrian "jumped in front of their tour bus." Fortunately, the driver acted quickly enough to keep the bus from running over the pedestrian, but not everyone escaped injury: drummer Nathan Followill was left with broken ribs.

The band's Facebook post says Followill is being treated and "doing well," but as ABC News Radio reports, Kings of Leon's Aug. 10 show in Saratoga Springs, NY needed to be postponed as a result of the accident. Current plans call for them to perform in Long Island on Aug. 13; the Saratoga Springs show has yet to be rescheduled.

"Boston, best crowd of the tour," tweeted Followill. "Gonna be tough to beat. Thanks for the love. Can't wait to come back."

As fans of the band will no doubt recall, this is far from the first time things have gone haywire for Kings of Leon on the road; in 2011, they postponed dates to allow Nathan to recover from surgery, only to ultimately cancel a major portion of the tour following an embarrassing gig cut short after singer Caleb Followill melted down on stage. The band's most recent release, 2013's 'Mechanical Bull,' peaked at No. 2 in the U.S.
