Late last year, Metallica's Kirk Hammett listed one of the two adjacent houses he has in San Francisco's Sea Cliff neighborhood. Now he's put the second one on the market, and he's asking $13 million for it.

SF Gate, which notes that the mansion at 308 Sea Cliff Ave., sold for $12.8 million in March, says that Hammett was asking $16 million for 320 Sea Cliff Ave., last year, and has dropped the price by $3 million. Once again, Mark Levinson of Pacific Union is representing Hammett.

"It's like being on vacation," Levinson told the paper. "It's like going to Big Sur or Carmel. ... The view is everything. The sound of the ocean is everything. It's mesmerizing. You can't get away from it."

As you can see by the pictures below, Levinson's not kidding. The three-story, 5,200-square-foot home boasts views of Land's End at China Beach, the Pacific Ocean and the Marin Headlands from picture windows at every level (including the master bathroom). Inside, there are four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms; a remodeled kitchen with granite counters, large island and two ovens and dishwashers; a wrought iron chandelier; a sunken living room and a large family room. You can also see pieces of Hammett's famed collection of classic horror movie posters on the walls.

"This magnificent private gated estate is perched high on the cliffs in San Francisco's highly desirable Sea Cliff, an enclave greatly sought by discriminating home buyers who want nothing but the best," reads the description on the home's website, where you can also take a video tour of it. "Built in 1926, the home’s vibrant tile work, red-tiled rooflines and turrets express the height of the 1920s Spanish Mediterranean period. ... With its grand curved staircase, classic dining and living rooms, beautifully remodeled kitchen, large family room opening up to an exquisite terrace and more, this home offers privacy, elegance and comfortable family living."
