The Pokemadness continues in the latest iteration of the Pokemon spin-off series, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, coming to North American shores in March 2013.

It's been a good while since the Mystery Dungeon series saw a release, but now it's back and makes its 3D debut on the 3DS. The English title is considerably shorter than the original Japanese, which, when translated, is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth. If you ask us, the latter sounds a lot cooler, but I guess they don't want the title to take up a majority of the box art.

The "magnagate" part refers to a mechanic in the game in which you can take a picture of an object with your 3DS and it will spawn as a random dungeon. It's a bit reminiscent of the Monster Rancher series for the original PlayStation and how it would allow players to grab any compact disc, stick it in their console when prompted, and have the game generate a unique monster to train. We're pretty certain that The Spice Girls' "Spice" album unlocked a rare monster, but we'll deny ever owning it.

Gates to Infinity will be released in both physical and digital forms on March 24th, 2013. Until then, watch the Japanese trailer from IGN below.
