Spector Would Love to do More Epic Mickey

With the Disney Archives full of tons of great material to use, Warren Spector said he'd love to see the Disney Epic Mickey series continue.

In an interview with Red Bull of all people, Junction Point Studio's Warren Spector discussed the potential future of the Epic Mickey series. Though the latest entry had been met with lukewarm reception at best, Spector believes there's still plenty of classic material to cover.

"I'd love to see the Disney Epic Mickey series continue - there are plenty of stories still to tell about Wasteland and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse," Spector said. "I'd love to see some Oswald games, where he's on his own. He deserves a shot at solo stardom. Then there are the ‘duck’ games - Donald, Scrooge, etc - that are just waiting to be made. And a bunch of us at Junction Point have thoughts about Goofy and the Gremlins and a hundred others.”

Spector even dished the dirt on one key character he'd like to feature in a possible fourth game in the franchise. "“Oh man, there are so many aspects of Disney's history to draw from, we'll never run out of material," Spector stated. "There are all sorts of forgotten characters, concepts from films that were never made... I should probably keep some secrets, but I'd love to do something with all the rejected versions of Tinkerbell [from Peter Pan] we saw in the archives – I think fans would get a huge kick out of that.”

There's no doubt Disney fans would love to see more deep tracks from the company's long history, but whether or not those fans turn up to buy enough copies of Disney Epic Mickey 2 to warrant another sequel remains to be seen.
