If you've listened to country music radio lately, you already know that today's artists have been heavily influenced by the southern rockers of the 60's and 70's like the Allman Brothers Band. So it only seems right that Gregg Allman will be honored by some of the biggest names in country music.

Members of the Allman Brothers Band, Cheap Trick and other classic rock bands signed to Sony BMG will have reason to smile when they receive their next royalty statements. On Wednesday, a five-year lawsuit against the label was settled to the tune of $7.95 million and a three percent raise in their royalty rates on sales of digital music, Rolling Stone is reporting.

The Allman Brothers Band are booking shows for 2012, and so far have scheduled a series of 'March Madness' dates at the Beacon Theater in New York.  The current lineup features two of the finest guitarists on the planet: Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks.
