45 years after its initial creation, the Beach Boys' long-unreleased 'Smile' album took home a 2013 Grammy Award in the Best Historical Album category, beating out one of their most famous former rivals.

A cult classic almost since its release more than 40 years ago, director Monte Hellman's 'Two-Lane Blacktop' -- featuring James Taylor and former Beach Boy Dennis Wilson in their only acting roles -- is getting the deluxe reissue treatment today (Jan. 8).

Last month, we watched the happy vibes surrounding the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary tour evaporate amidst reports that Mike Love had dismissed Brian Wilson and Al Jardine from the lineup.
