Being romantic isn't my strong suit, I've been told. It's not from a lack of effort, and it's not because my heart's not in it. We all have our shortcomings. Donald Trump can’t comb his hair. Roger Clemens can’t admit he did steroids. Tony Romo can’t win big games. And I'm not very good at being romantic. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of guys who are in the same boat. Maybe we just don't feel comfortable performing romantic acts. Or we struggle to come up with "the perfect romantic gesture". Or maybe there's a fear of being laughed at. Whatever the excuse, we need to put forth the effort, guys. So I've decided to come up with a list of simple, romantic gestures that can help romantically challenged men gain a little confidence in their ability to be romantic.

I guess it's no surprise. Men spend about twice as much on Valentine's day as women do. It's traditional, and it's probably justified in my opinion. The Valentine's occasion is a created one, and it definitely gets in our pockets, both male and female...
