A small group of seniors at Cascade High School in Clayton, IN celebrated their upcoming graduation with a prank, covering school doors, offices and windows with more than 12,000 colorful Post-It notes.

But the school superintendent apparently didn’t think it was so funny — he suspended almost 60 students, and a janitor accused of helping during the prank could lose her job.

Five seniors and one junior were suspended for two days, and superintendent Patrick Spray also recommended the custodian be fired. Dozens of outraged students took to the school gym to stage a sit-in protest — which resulted in scores of more one-day suspensions.

“Disrupting the school day and causing a disruption during the school day is not justified,” Spray said. “It’s part of every school’s code of conduct, and I believe it’s very consistent.”

Kim Rouse, the custodian whose job is at risk, said she didn’t let the students in the building as Spray believes, but is “overwhelmed with all the kids’ support. That does help me a lot.”

In 2005, the members of Pink Floyd set aside their decades-long feud with exiled founding member Roger Waters and came together for a momentous (and, as it turned out, final) performance at Live 8.

Keyboard player Richard Wright’s death in 2008 closed the door on any further Floyd reunions, but the performance has led to a handful of collaborations between the surviving members — such as the 2011 concert where Waters was briefly joined by David Gilmour and Nick Mason. Now, thanks to the band’s YouTube channel, you can see some of the moments leading up to the show.

The black-and-white video offers a six-minute window into preparations for the performance, including moments both humorous (Seeing David Gilmour on top of the Wall, Waters good-naturedly quips “try not to dive off”) and heartfelt (the shot of Gilmour resting his head against Waters, captured above).

All in all, it’s a touching tribute to the way music can form a lasting bond — stronger than time, distance, or years of public acrimony. While the video is cast under the undeniably poignant shadow of Wright’s death, it’s still wonderful to see the guys letting go of old grudges and coming together to do what they do best. In the bizarre world of David Lee Roth, apparently there’s nothing wrong with trashing hotel rooms — or trashing Sammy Hagar in print prior to their joint 2002 tour.

But throwing trash onstage during a Van Halen show? That’s a no-no in the eyes of singer Diamond Dave, who recently singled out a fan for tossing rubbish in Roth’s direction at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.

Van Halen was playing its cover of the Roy Orbison classic ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ and just about to wrap up the song’s bridge when an undetermined object that was launched from within the first few rows landed near Roth’s feet.

Roth quickly quieted the rest of the group by saying, “Wait a second, wait a second,” then addressed the offending party: “Don’t throw your garbage up onstage. Throw you girlfriend, a-hole.” The crowd cheered with approval just as guitarist Eddie Van Halen gently kicked the item toward the front of the stage.

Hmm, maybe this song is giving off bad vibes or something on this tour. On March 13 in New Hampshire, Van Halen was less than a minute into ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ when Roth stopped the band so he could curse out fans for fighting.

There aren’t a lot of red-haired players in the NBA. That’s one of the reasons Patrick Gonzalez, who has red hair, is a fan of Matt Bonner, a ginger-headed back-up center for his hometown San Antonio Spurs.

So to pay homage to the sharp-shooting bigman, Gonzalez had a rather accurate image of his favorite player shaved into the back of his head.

Since hair is apparently a touchy subject at Woodlake Hills Middle School, his mom Rose Gonzalez actually went to the school to clear the Bonner-cut with the administration before Patrick showed up for class.

But despite this meeting, Patrick was told that he would have to get rid of his unique hair style or face suspension. According to school official Aubrey Chancellor, Rose Gonzalez may have met with the front office about her son’s hair, but permission was never actually granted.

So now it looks like Patrick will have to get rid of his tribute, which has been deemed a “distraction.” He says that he is “mad,” but will comply with the decision.

If anything good were to come out of this misunderstanding, it would be that it might draw more attention to Bonner, who last year posted a couple pretty clever parodies of basketball instructional videos on YouTube. Check them out below.

Disco legend Donna Summer has died after a battle with cancer, TMZ is reporting. She was 63 years old.

Insiders say she wanted to keep the disease quiet, and a friend said that as recently as two weeks ago, Summer seemed okay and was even finishing up work on a new album.

The five-time Grammy winner shot to fame in the 1970s with songs like ‘Love to Love You Baby,’ ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Bad Girls,’ and continued her reign on radio airwaves into the ’80s with hits including ‘She Works Hard for the Money’ and ‘This Time I Know It’s for Real.’

Summer was also the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach No. 1 on the US Billboard chart.

It wasn’t that long ago that yoga was only thought to be practiced by Indian mystics. (Or perhaps little green Jedis.) But now it seems like everybody knows how to do the downward dog.

In fact, these days, even 93-year-olds are hitting the yoga mat.

Meet Tao Porchon-Lynn, the nonagenarian whom the Guinness World Records just reconized as the world’s oldest yoga teacher.

Porchon-Lynn was born in French colonial India, and has actually been practicing the ancient art since she was eight. But it wasn’t until she was 73 that she noticed yoga was getting more and more popular and decided to dedicate her career to it by founding the Westchester Institute of Yoga in New York

In between, she’s been a cabaret dancer, an actress and a model. She even once won a contest for “Best Legs in Europe.”

On her website, Tao claims she’s “a living advertisement for how to tap into our human potential. She is unique in her ability to overcome the effects of aging to control her body and mind in harmony with yoga’s principles.”

We certainly can’t argue with that.

Chad Smith rejoined Chickenfoot tonight (May 16) at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre, appearing with them in concert for the first time on the tour in support of their latest album, ‘Chickenfoot III.’ While Smith is an official member of Chickenfoot, Kenny Aronoff has been handling drums throughout this tour due to Smith’s involvement with the Red Hot Chili Peppers current road trek.

Earlier in the evening, during the main set, Sammy Hagar made a passing reference to Chad, joking that, “if Chad was here, I’d kick his ass.” Hagar, characteristically, said it with a knowing wink, foreshadowing the events to come before a crowd that thought it seemed like a random thing to say.

Shortly after the band left the stage following the main set, a man in a Kiss t-shirt and backwards baseball cap sat down behind Aronoff’s drums. Many thought at first that this was Aronoff’s drum tech but the complexity of what he was playing (and the stage lights coming on) caused the fans to realize that it was Smith, and went nuts.

The other three members of the band came back onstage and launched into ‘Oh Yeah’ from the first Chickenfoot album. Hagar then turned to the drummer and said, “Chad, you haven’t had this much fun all year and you know it.” The band then broke into a cover of Jimi Hendrix‘s ‘Foxey Lady’ with a bit of ‘Manic Depression’ thrown in.

Chickenfoot closed out the show with their new single, ‘Different Devil,’ followed by a tribute to the late Ronnie Montrose with a cover of ’Rock Candy,’ during which Aronoff came back on stage and helped on humorously on the cymbols. Hagar said that Smith was only the second drummer to get the beat on ‘Rock Candy’ right (the first being Montrose’s Denny Carmassi). All five musicians took a bow at the end of the night, during which time our reporter on the scene took the historic, if somewhat blurry, picture above.

Forget the final three, the ladies have spoken — Phillip “Phillip” Phillips will be your host this evening, your prom king, quarterback and master of the boudoir. Girls upfront love this guy, cheered for him a few too many times during the night’s final performance, and hell, he’s why they’re sitting upfront in the first place. Oh, he also sang ‘We’ve Got Tonight’ by Bob Seger.

The judges have long-worried that Phillips is only capable of crooning off the grid in his Jakob Dylan-cum-John Mayer purr. This was not so with his “best performance of the season” according to Randy, in which Phillips stuck to what he knew; a hushed, faithful version of ‘We’ve Got Tonight,’ where he stayed in the velvety corners, hid in the pockets, winked and nuzzled his way to the finish line.

No big climax, just gliding on air — teaching today’s kids about the tear-inducing power of Seger. And it’s really hard to find the velvety corners in a string-laden piano ballad, dammit.

American Idol contestant Joshua Ledet showcased a good-roasted version of Etta James’ ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ earlier in the night like a Christmas chestnut, but is he John Lennon-good? The answer is… maybe.

His husky lisp lost some of its tenderness on a slightly syrupy ‘Imagine’ — a song that’s far bigger than he’ll ever be. It’s just not the sort of song anyone can “best” really. The best they can hope for is to sneak in new nuances, which he did with some well-placed Al Green-esque squeals, in between lyrics that Ledet politely doesn’t quite grasp the scope of. Did he have to throw in one of those big American Idol key changes (TM) to show off on the second verse? Probably not, but nevermind that.

Jennifer Lopez (who spends 78% of her life being surprised-like a goldfish passing the same castle all day) exclaimed, “Tt’s like you’re preaching while you’re singing!” Yeah, who’s heard of a preacher that sings? That would be craaaaazy, girl.

Philip Anselmo spoke about the possibility of a Pantera reunion with Zakk Wylde filling in for the late great Dimebag Darrell, and… it looks like a lot of counseling is going to be required first.

The idea of Wylde, well known for his many years as Ozzy Osbourne‘s guitarist, as well as for his own exploits in Black Label Society, filling in for his old drinking buddy is both an interesting and a blasphemous one, depending on who you ask and on what day.

But could this actually happen? Not so fast, Anselmo tells WGRD in Grand Rapids, Mich. First of all, Anselmo and drummer Vinnie Paul, who is also Dime’s brother, have not spoken since the guitarist was murdered in 2004.

Anselmo addressed that fact, saying that the reunion is “an interesting question. Well, look, before anything like that could possibly happen, Vince and I would have to actually be in the same room, we’d have to sit down, hash out whatever differences, demons… whatever… we’d have to hash it all out.”

As for Wylde-as-replacement? Anselmo’s not exactly feeling that that idea without some heavy duty discussion and hashing out, either. “And as far as Zakk Wylde goes, I’m not so sold on all that, because I think he and I have to sit down and hash some crap out. That day has not come yet, and [when] that day comes, I can comment further on it. As of right now, it’s just talk,” the singer stated.

There are a ton of guys out there who claim to have no shame in their game, but Wisconsin resident Bill Wisth takes the cake… or should we say all-you-can-eat fish fry. The 6’6,” 350 lbs. mountain of a man claims he had 12 pieces of fried fish before a supposedly “all you can eat” seafood restaurant — ‘Chuck’s Place’ — tried to persuade him to leave with an additional eight pieces to go.

Mr. Wisth was so upset by the restaurant’s “false advertising” that he’s dedicated most of his time to picketing outside the eatery, which claims they literally ran out of fish on the busy Friday night he was served.

According to Chuck’s, the now-banned fried fish lover has been a thorn in their side, accumulating a tab he hasn’t paid off yet. A tab? For food? This guy’s like Norm from ‘Cheers.’ This could be the most classic case of biting the hands that feeds you we’ve ever seen.

We have a feeling the folks at Long John Silver’s and Red Lobster are rubbing their flippers and/or claws together at the opportunity to satisfy Mr. Wisth’s voracious appetite.

Of course, Mr. Wisth reminds us of another hungry man who was turned away from an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet.

In Worcester, Massachusetts, the teachers at Abby Kelley Foster High School pranked their students by interviewing them on camera, and asking them to reflect on the school year…then dancing like idiots in the background.

They ended up completely cutting out the students’ audio, and set it to the Whitney Houston song, ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’.

A lot of the dancing is pretty funny, but the big guy at :50 and 1:32 is the best:

IKEA specializes in affordable, streamlined and semi-stylish furniture that’s space-efficient, strangely named yet easy for just about anybody to put together. Oh, and their cafeteria has amazing Swedish meatballs. But the company is taking a bold step toward cornering the home-entertainment market with their latest “invention” – a combination TV stand and smart LED HDTV/Blu-ray player that reaches European markets this fall.

Named the UPPLEVA (of course), this device packages your home-entertainment needs into a relatively compact structure with a TV screen, built-in Blu-ray player, a cabinet, and a wireless subwoofer. Endgadget says the screens on the UPPLEVA will range from 24 to 46 inches, with prices for the unit starting around $960 overseas. After trial runs in Sweden, Italy, France, Poland, Denmark, Spain, Norway and Portugal, the UPPLEVA likely will expand to more markets – hopefully the U.S. – in the Spring of 2013.

That seems like a reasonable price for a smart TV with a Blu-ray player AND a storage unit. But will you buy this if it doesn’t fit the design of your place? IKEA furniture only fits certain styles, and the UPPLEVA matches that description. It won’t work for everybody, but for those who have limited space and a need for a combination unit, this could be ideal.

It also marks a step in the right direction for technology, as a whole. We just didn’t think IKEA would be one of those pioneers in the industry! So what do you think? Would you pick up this unit if it was available at your local IKEA?

Almost three years after being knocked to the ground while performing at the Tony Awards, Bret Michaels has settled a lawsuit with the show’s organizers and the network. While the terms were not made public, Michael’s attorney indicated the singer was pleased that the affair was over.

“Mr. Michaels would like to thank his fans for their continued support,” attorney Alex Weingarten said, according to Blabbermouth. Watch a video of the incident in question below. Michaels says that fall caused a broken nose, three stitches to his lip and eventually led to the near-fatal brain hemorrhage he suffered in 2010.

“Through his sheer will to live, to see his children grow up, [he] was able to survive this trauma,” the lawsuit states.

Initially Michaels didn’t seem motivated to sue, telling People that he felt the performance — which was part of a ‘Rock of Ages’ production — was an honor for him and Poison. When the song ends, his bandmates hop back on stage, while Michaels lingers a little too long in front of the stage and gets clobbered by a piece of set coming from the rafters. From there it’s a matter of he said, she said. Michaels says he wasn’t given proper instructions, organizers say he missed his mark.

To his credit, Michaels was only looking for attorney fees, compensatory, incidental, special and consequential damages for the incident. Reuters points out that he didn’t ask for punitive damages, which is where the big money could have been made.

With so many amazing contenders in the ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ semifinals, it was really anyone’s guess who’d leave after Tuesday night’s elimination show.

So which three couples will move on to next week’s big finale?

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet, who was nice enough to introduce first-time viewers to her cleavage, kicked off the show by letting the judges choose an encore dance from performance night.

Len announced the honors would go to William and Cheryl’s samba, so the bronzed pair again took to the stage to showcase William’s bouncy backside to a grateful nation.

Then we got a backstage look at what exactly happened to Katherine after she flubbed the end of her second routine on Monday. Apparently a twinge in her back chose to make itself known at an inopportune time, and she was devastated — although it seemed she was more concerned about possibly costing Mark a spot in the finals than she was about herself.

Brooke’s cleavage called Katherine and Mark to the stage to learn their fate, and after they were told they were the first to make it to the finals, they jumped so high it honestly looked like they’d both been launched from ejector seats. Much rejoicing ensued, and we have to say we’re pleased we’ll get to see them next week.

Next up: Derek and Maria, who had a helluva night on Monday. But even though they were at the top of the judges’ leaderboard, they must have fallen short on audience votes because they were the first couple in jeopardy.

Then we got a peek at the upcoming ‘Rock of Ages‘ movie, only live on stage, featuring ‘DWTS’ vet Julianne Hough and the always-amazing Mary J. Blige. It was … well, see for yourself:

Donald and Peta were the next to be told they were in jeopardy, which course meant William and Cheryl moved on to the finals.

And in what many people will probably feel was a really shocking result, Maria and Derek were eliminated, even after getting one perfect score and one near-perfect score on Monday. Yeah, those audience votes do matter. (Is this a good time to say we predicted they’d come in fourth?)

But if Maria was surprised, she sure didn’t let it show. “I learned so many things,” she said about her time on the show. “I learned how strong I was. I learned to persevere.” Classy lady — and as we said, it really could’ve been anyone who went home.

See you next week, when we’ll finally find out who wins the coveted mirror ball trophy.

The closer and closer we get to ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ premiere, the more we want to see Andrew Garfield take his Spidey suit off. You know he’s completely naked underneath there, right?

More and more clips and photos keep churning out from Columbia Pictures, who can’t help but tease us to death with that one iconic shirtless image of Garfield going in for a make-out session with Emma Stone. But our favorite sneak peek we’ve gotten from the movie so far is the latest (count ‘em) four-minute trailer. Check it out.

While there aren’t any new shirtless moments for him yet, we’re hopeful that it’ll be worth the wait. But for now, we just have to imagine what’s waiting for us underneath all that spandex.

Usually when a person is graduating from college, she’s thinking about what kind of job she’ll get after school. This woman gets a surprise offer during graduation and suddenly has a different job to think about — the new and unexpected job of planning her wedding.

Graduation is definitely time for thinking about the future. Clearly, no one knows this better than the boyfriend of Sarah Cooper, a very recent graduate of American University’s School of Public Affairs. Sam Miller decided that Cooper’s walk across the stage as she gets her diploma was the perfect time to pop the question.

It didn’t take long for everyone in the auditorium to understand exactly what was going on, despite the fact that they probably couldn’t hear it.

Cooper and Miller now have way more to celebrate than her accomplishments at university. They also have way more to prepare for than a post-college job hunt. Double congrats, Sarah!

We’ve watched the guys at Epic Meal Time make massive desserts. We’ve watched them make massive St. Patrick’s Day treats. And we’ve watched them make massive, yet amusing, fools out of themselves. Today, we watch them make the most massive bacon burger ever created by man. And we love them for it.

Because we weren’t at our computers playing ‘Diablo 3’ we decided to watch what Epic Meal Time had in store for us in this episode. What they had was a colossal sandwich with 500 (yes, two zeros after that 5) strips of bacon and likely more than 109,000 calories. We are just a little bit disappointed in ourselves to admit that it actually looks really freakin’ good. Of course, watching Muscles Glasses devour it sort of takes away from its original appeal, but still, we would have liked just one bite.

The good news for the EMT guys? We’re guessing they will be hired to cater the upcoming Susanne Eman wedding.
