Wednesday, May 15th, several tornadoes tore through North Texas which killed 6 people, injured several, and left many without a home. Here are some ways you can help out those affected by these devastating storms.


Global Samaritan Resources

The Abilene based organization is taking donations that can be mailed by check to PO Box 3431 Abilene, TX 79604, dropped off at Global Samaritan Resources located at 2074 North First, or donated online at http://globalsamaritan.org/donate.html.


American Red Cross

Donate to this American Red Cross’ disaster relief fund here. You can also donate by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to automatically donate $10 to the disaster relief fund.

If you would like to volunteer manpower, officials ask for you to report to First United Methodist Church, 301 Loop 567, in Granbury and look for the CERT trailer.


Salvation Army

The Salvation Army has set up a shelter at the Granbury Catholic Church and is deploying a mobile kitchen to DeCordova Bend in Hood County near Granbury and in Cleburne to help feed victims and volunteers. They are also accepting monetary donations at Salvationarmydfw.org or 1-800-SAL-ARMY.


Hood Country Animal Control

The Hood County Animal Control is seeking donations of crates to house roaming animals. They can be contacted at (817) 573-4277.
