What’s in Rudy’s DVR
It's a rare occasion to find me on the Fernandez family couch watching TV for any real long period of time. However, there are those times when I do, and then I want to watch something I like. On cold, rainy, bad weather days or if I've had a bad day, I value my DVR. Here's what's on my DVR now, for the next time I get the chance to sit and vegetate.
- 1
Meat Eater - Sportsman Channel
Two things got me hooked on the "Meat Eater" starring Steve Rinella. One was the title and the other was the fact that Steve survives in the wild on whatever he kills he eats. Case and point, Rinella recently killed, cooked and the ate a coyote. All the while sharing the recipe on how to best cook the wile canine.
- 2
Ultimate Survival Alaska - Nat Geo Channel
Ultimate Survival Alaska is just that, 12 survivalists each possessing a unique skill and/or talent trying to survive Alaska. The extreme weather and the wildlife always puts the men in danger. The last episode I watched, old man Marty Raney made a decision for the group to move on without two of the guys who didn't make it to the extraction point on time. I'm wondering who will survive for season two, which by the way starts in a couple weeks. I better get to watching these last episodes on my DVR before the new season starts.

Survivorman - Science Channel
I am a huge fan of "Survivorman" Les Stroud, because I think he is a ninja when it comes to survival skills. This guy takes no cameramen with him, he's all alone, no safety rope to catch him. He is "Survivorman" and I've got to catch up this weekend because the new series starts next week on Discovery's Science Channel. I'll order a pizza get some root-beer and become a couch spud, now that's survivor skills.

The Legend of Shelby the Swamp Man - History Channel
Shelby the swamp man cracks me up, when I can understand him and I catch myself talking like him. By the way, to watch "The Legend of Shelby the Swamp Man", it requires a DVR just to rewind and replay to figure out what he's saying.

The Penguins of Madagascar - Nickelodeon Channel
Okay, so I'll admit it I watch The Penguins of Madagascar, and as a matter of fact yes I do, DVR every single episode. Do I watch them? As often as I can, which isn't as often as I'd like. Nonetheless, I've got them on my DVR for when I need some self indulgent me time, the penguins are like comfort food for the brain.
