The Givenchy gown that Anne Hathaway wore to the London premiere of 'Les Miserables' on Dec. 5 was ... well, pretty miserable.

The actress, still stuck with the pixie cut she endured for her role as Fantine - and we hope she was handsomely paid for that chop - wore a busy, beaded white dress that had few pros (more like one) and a whole lot of cons.

On the plus side of the ledger sheet is the back of the gown. The embellished dip is beautifully cut and shows off Anne's porcelain skin.

From that angle, it looks like she's wearing a shawl and a beaded column gown. It also highlights her swan-like neck.

Then she turns around and ... oh dear.

The halter neckline and exposed shoulders combined with poufy draped sleeves? Yikes.

The sleeves add bulk and make Hathaway look like she could sprout wings and fly. In fact, we sort of want to see her reach her arms straight out so we can inspect the wingspan of that thing.

There's also way too much beading going on here. She looks like an Etsy beading project gone awry.

The best proof of how bad this is? Even arm candy like Hugh Jackman can't make it any better.
