Yesterday we learned San Diego Comic-Con would bring big news for Wonder Woman with Warner Bros. finally confirming our hopes of a Patty Jenkins-directed sequel. That’s bound to be just a sliver of the big news to come out of the studio’s panel on Saturday, and ahead of it we’ve already learned the sequel’s potential release date.

A cute kid, apes loading machine guns, apes throwing grenades, Woody Harrelson shouting at apes – there’s a lot going on in the latest trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes. The third (and supposedly final, but we’ll wait for the box office numbers to determine that one) installment in the Planet of the Apes reboot is an all out war between mankind and ape-kind, and it looks pretty wild.

Considering the fact that Jordan Peele began working on Get Out in a different political climate – at the start of the Obama administration – it only makes sense that the filmmaker had multiple alternate endings under his sleeve. Back in March, Peele stopped by BuzzFeed’s Another Round podcast to chat about the evolution of the film as it changed to keep up with and properly reflect the political times. He also revealed that he initially had several alternate endings to the hit horror comedy, all of which were much darker than what happens to Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) in the film’s final moments. We already know one of those endings, but now Peele’s revealed details of a second.

At the end of Sweet Home Alabama, Reese Witherspoon finally marries her hometown sweetheart and they live happily ever after. Now let’s pretend a few years down the road that marriage didn’t work out, and she realized Josh Lucas was holding her back from being the woman she never got to be. Now in her 40s, Reese just wants to live again! She gets separated (exchanging Lucas for Michael Sheen), returns home (subbing in Los Angeles for Alabama) and decides to let loose and invite three random dudes to move into her home. That’s Home Again, in a nutshell, which I am convinced is a secret Sweet Home Alabama sequel.

J.K. Rowling is a pretty gracious woman. Beyond giving us the Wizarding World, regularly answering Harry Potter fan questions on Twitter, and annually apologizing for character deaths, she also gives back a little. In 2008, the author wrote an idea for a Potter prequel and auctioned it off to raise funds for a literacy charity. Now someone has stolen that rare prequel, because the world is full of ungrateful muggles.

I could pretend to be one of those Love Actually haters (read: everyone on the internet) and say a bunch of snooty things about the beloved rom-com and its upcoming reunion sequel. I could say, “Oh gosh, here we go again with the most overrated holiday romance of the century,” or drop a couple hot takes about how it’s actually a terrible or misogynistic movie. But the truth is, (oh god, I’m about to publicly out myself here…) I love Love Actually, and I don’t care what you think. So I found the new trailer for the reunion short film in honor of Red Nose Day, kind of stupidly cute? Sue me.

Today Disney dropped a whole slew of new release dates for the studio through 2021. It might seem like a joke that humanity will even exist to see that year arrive, but hey, we can dream, and in those dreams there’s a lot to be excited about, including Indiana Jones 5.

The third solo outing for the God of Thunder isn’t just any new Marvel movie, but a distinctly Taika Waititi one. That means it’s going to be a heck of a lot more fun than you’d imagine.

There’s really nothing like David Lowery’s new film. A Ghost Story isn’t the typical haunted house tale we’re used to. But Lowery’s transcendent, meditative film captures the haunting realization of how fleeting our time in this world is. The film was hailed as one of the best out of Sundance this year (you can read our review here), which makes today’s debut of the first trailer all the more exciting.
