Willie Nelson is coming to west Texas to perform at the Outlaws and Legends Music Festival on March 31 and April 1st. While most Texans may know every one of Willie's hits and can sing along with him in concert there's a side of Willie you may not know.

While he's a Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, successful restaurant owner (former owner), business owner (Willie's Reserve cannabis products), and Willie's Horse Rescue Ranch. I know this for a fact firsthand, Willie has a huge heart, as you'll see in the video below.

LOOK: Here's Willie at the Luck Ranch with His Horses

A couple of years ago I was introduced to Habitat for Horses.org in Alvin, Texas during one of their recent fundraisers. That's when I learned how deep Grammy award-winning superstar Willie Nelson was into rescuing horses that were headed to the slaughterhouse. Willie has a weak spot for horses and has created his own 700-acre ranch in Spicewood, Texas where he cares for all the horses he's rescued.

He may be a music-playing, pot-smoking, whiskey-drinking musician, but you take away all the titles and he is Willie Nelson the horse lover.

Willie Nelson says in the interview: "My horses are probably the luckiest horses in the world.” Nelson continues, “They get hand-fed twice a day, and they were just ready to go to slaughter is probably the last thing they remembered, so they’re happy horses." Source: KAST-12 / Attached Video

Where is Willie the most comfortable? The obvious answer is his Horse Rescue Ranch which he calls "Luck" and as the original Outlaw says "when a horse is here on the ranch, the horse is in Luck and when a horse is not at his ranch the horse is out of Luck.
