Texas Leads the Future as Oracle and Lancium Join Forces in Big Tech Move
A massive AI Infrastructure project is coming to the Lone Star State that will create 100,000 jobs in the Abilene Texas area. But, where exactly will the new facility be and what impact will it have?
President Trump announced the news at a press conference where he unveiled the plan that will be the "largest AI infrastructure project in history". Joining Trump in the presser, which you can watch in the player below, was the Executive Director of Oracle, Larry Ellison, who detailed where the new facility will be.
The data centers are already under construction here in Texas,” Ellison stated. “Each building is half a million square feet. There are 10 buildings currently being built, but that will expand to 20 other locations beyond the Abilene location, which is our first location.
Where Is The New Facility Being Built?
Lancium, a clear-air computing company, started construction on the new facility at 5502 Spinks Road back in 2022. The company was focused on Bitcoin mining but changed its direction to focus on a data center that would host multiple clients.
StarGate
President Trump announced that three of the biggest tech businesses will be joining the project. Oracle, Soft Bank, and Open AI teamed up to launch StarGate. The new American company will invest $500 billion in the new project which will create over 100,000 jobs in the Abilene area.
The project aims to help doctors create personalized health plans using AI in the fight against cancer.
How Will It Affect Abilene Texas
Obviously, more jobs will be coming to the Key City creating a better economy. But some folks seem to be apprehensive about it with some suggesting that Abilene will become "the new Austin Texas", while others shared their support.
