We tend to do everything bigger here in Texas and apparently, that theme continues when it comes to doing bad things. We're just plain sinners here in the Lone Star State especially when it comes to lust.

WalletHub launched its annual list of the most sinful states using key metrics like hate, anger, jealousy, greed, lust, and more to determine where moral growth is needed the most. The data set ranges from violent crimes per capita to excessive drinking to the share of the population with gambling disorders.

Why Are They Naughty States?

Each state has its vice when it comes to doing bad things. But, it's not a stretch that Las Vegas leads the nation in gambling addiction while New Mexico continues to be tops in drug addiction. But that doesn't always mean they are the most sinful. For instance, Nevada lands at the top of this list, but New Mexico comes in at number 23.

The Lone Star State came in at number 5 on this list as we are number one when it comes to "lust rank". That means we have a very high interest in adult entertainment and a high rate of arrest for prostitution.

We also tend to be jealous of other people's stuff as we have a high rate of theft, identity theft, and fraud. Say it ain't so!

Are you surprised at WalletHub's findings? What state should be at the top of this list?
