The Dallas Cowboys signed the former Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver in March hoping to fill a void that was left after Amari Cooper went to Cleveland, and Michael Gallup tore his ACL.

The Stamford Texas native was doing well in training camp and was projected to be the number two wide receiver behind CeeDee Lamb. However, Washington was injured after cornerback Trevon Diggs landed on his foot on a pass play and was carted off the field.

After an MRI, it was confirmed that Washington did fracture his foot. He was scheduled for surgery today (August 2nd,2022) and will be out for 6-10 weeks.

Well, that sucks.

That means the Cowboys, who as I mentioned were already thin at wide receiver, will have to look at other options to fill out their receiving corps.

But, what options do the Cowboys have?

Between players already on the roster, and free agents, the Cowboys do have some options at the wide receiver position to consider. Let's take a look.

Honestly, I feel like the Cowboys definitely need to sign a veteran free agent to help shore up that group. I guess time will tell.

On the bright side, football season is almost upon us. Regardless, that is definitely something we should be thankful for.
