Texas Didn’t Win First But Dallas Still Lands Among America’s Best Football Cities
Football isn’t just a sport in Texas, it’s basically a way of life. And according to a new WalletHub ranking of the Best Cities for Football Fans, this Texas city checked in at No. 2 in the entire country. Translation: we didn’t get the gold, but we absolutely belong on the podium.
What City In Texas Landed At Number Two?
WalletHub looked at everything from pro teams and college football presence to stadium atmosphere, fan engagement, and overall football culture. The study crowned Dallas Texas as the number two football city in the nation.

And let’s be honest, when your city is home to the Dallas Cowboys, one of the most followed (and most argued about) franchises on the planet, you’re already starting at midfield. Add in massive high school football energy, diehard tailgates, and a skyline dominated by AT&T Stadium, and yeah… Dallas is built different.
Who Beat Us (Barely)
Pittsburgh snagged the top spot, which is fair. Steelers fans are loud, loyal, and basically born in black and gold. But here’s the thing: Texas doesn’t need validation to know how hard we ride for football. We’ve got Friday nights under the lights, Saturdays in burnt orange, black and red, or maroon, and Sundays full of Cowboys chaos.
What This Means for Texas Fans
No. 2 still means elite. It means we’re in the conversation with the best football cities in America. From Abilene living rooms to Arlington parking lots, football is woven into our DNA.
So yeah, we didn’t get the trophy… but if this were a rivalry game, Texas just took it to overtime.
