The new MAGA, or, Mothers Against Greg Abbott, has a strong message for Texas as students across the state begin, or have already begun, the new school year.

Mothers Against Greg Abbott are a diverse group of Democrats, Independents, & Moderate Republicans standing up for Texas families and in a new ad, a mother gets her son ready for the first day of school. She ties his shoes, makes sure his phone is on "silent mode" and, of course, takes that obligatory first day of school photo as a keepsake.

However, this student isn't just preparing for the homework or algebra questions he'll get, he's preparing for the worst. Check it out below:

That's right, this student is preparing for the (what once was unlikely) event of a school shooting.

Sharing the same video on Twitter, the PAC said:

Our children are not soldiers, regardless of what the extreme right thinks. Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or neither, it’s time to come together and demand gun safety now.

This ad is the third released by the PAC against Greg Abbott in order to rally votes for his Democratic gubernatorial opponent Beto O'Rourke in the upcoming November election.

The group is also collecting signatures for a letter to be sent to Abbott on gun safety reform, calling for the implementation of universal background checks, raising the age to buy a gun to 21, and mandatory waiting periods.
