It's stupid and it's all thanks to TikTok. A new TikTok trend is causing damage to homes and it's seriously annoying residents in this Texas neighborhood.

Residents in San Antonio, Texas are stuck dealing with the latest trend to emerge online, it's called the "door kick" challenge. It's basically a new take on "ding dong ditch"- but a little bit more extreme.

The name kind of says it all, teenagers try to kick in strangers' doors before running away. Now, while those of us a little older may have ding dong ditched, the major difference today, is that so many residents now have front door cameras, and it's recording every time a teenager chasing TikTok fame goes and tries the "door kick" challenge.

Residents in the northwestern area of San Antonio tell KENS5 that they are concerned not only that the teens will hurt themselves, but also about the damage they are causing to the homes- it's even causing some residents to move.

The resident of Leon Valley has a good point; this is Texas, you never know who's packing! This seemingly innocent trend could turn deadly in an instant!

And it doesn't seem like the trend is slowing down anytime soon- KENS5 had an update.

Is it illegal? No. Is it stupid? Definitely. Could someone end up getting seriously hurt? Yes!

Anytime you hear the words "TikTok" and "challenge" in the same sentence, you already know that it won't end well. Police nationwide are encouraging parents to speak to their teens about the dangers and potential criminal charges associated with participating in this challenge.
