Nearly everyone that moves to Abilene says "Abilene has a lot of Churches" and there are. However, there are a lot of churches with beautiful historic buildings, see for yourself.

The Chicken Shack started it all at 2201 South 1st St in 1942. Since then many different restaurants have come and gone. But now the building is gone and only memories remain.

Abilene's iconic Hot Dog Castle building was built in 1974. For over 48 years it's fed a lot of people and it appears to have gotten a fresh new start.

Some Abilene buildings are eyesores that need some attention. While others need to be knocked down, refurbished or totally destroyed and started all over again.

We're lucky to have some very uniquely built buildings in Abilene. Many of these buildings tend to bring back memories from the past.
