The audience at Whitesnake's June 9 tour stop in Beverly Hills received a welcome surprise when Glenn Hughes, frontman David Coverdale's former bandmate in Deep Purple, stopped by to lend his vocals to a performance of the Purple classic "Lay Down, Stay Down."

Hughes says the album ended up being about 'life and death and what goes on in between.'

California Breed, the new band featuring Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham which grew out of the ashes of Black Country Communion, has announced the release date, cover art and track list for its debut album.

Jason Bonham and Glenn Hughes are working together on a new project. Previously, the pair collaborated in Black Country Communion, a short-lived supergroup that also featured guitarist Joe Bonamassa and producer Kevin Shirley.

Black Country Communion vocalist and bassist Glenn Hughes is set to release 'Live in Wolverhampton' as a 2-CD set and as a digital download. Recorded in June of 2009 in his hometown of Bilston, Wolverhampton, the new project is slated to drop on Feb. 12 via earMusic and Armoury Records.

In a recent interview with 69 Faces Of Rock, vocalist supreme Glenn Hughes talked about his current all-star band, Black Country Communion, and the overriding influence of days gone by on their sound. “Back in the ’70s everybody was getting high,” he says matter-of-factly. “Lots of women, and lots of drugs, and buzz and so on.”
