The Texas Rose Festival is held in Tyler, Texas every October. The history of the festival reaches back to 1933 and celebrates the rose and the impact the industry has on the town. There are parades, luncheons, ceremonies, seminars and the crowning of the newest Rose Queen

When you're thinking of  a quick weekend getaway the perfect place is San Angelo to see the famous International Waterlily Collection.

If you are looking for a fun place to take the whole family this summer then check out the Dallas World Aquarium. I have to admit I don't get to the Austin area very often but this is one place I will put on my list of travels. The Inner Space Cavern is located in Georgetown, just outside of Austin and it looks gorgeous!

Glen Rose is just a couple of hours from Abilene and has some fun and exciting places for the family to visit. There are three main places you don't want to pass up Dinosaur Valley State Park, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and Dinosaur World. All are super family friendly and can be a short day trip or an overnight stay.
