If you ever attended a Children's Art and Literacy Festival (CALF) in Abilene, you know how much fun that is. Well the Children's Performing Art Series (CPAS) is no different. Last year the CPAS sold out prior to every show, even though most of the shows were limited capacity. This year don't hesitate to get your tickets online early.

This year is going to be considerably different, show's for 2021 will include "Chris Perondi's Stunt Dog Experience" Saturday March 27th at 1 pm and 5 pm. This performance will be an open-air event at the Taylor County Expo Entertainment Pavilion.

As you'll see in the above video Perondi's Stunt Dogs are simply amazing you'll see the dogs perform incredible tricks, air stunts, and super athletic feats by dogs that were all rescued from shelters.

On Sunday, April 8th at 2 pm don't miss Kipling's classic, "The Jungle Book." The amazing tales come to life on the Historic Paramount Theatre stage. There will be lots of ups and downs, music to sing along to and the happy ending.

On Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2 pm you'll witness the spectacular acrobatics from the "Acrobats of Cirque-Tacular." This too will be presented inside the historic Paramount Theatre. Check out the acrobats, aerialists and circus athletics as they twist, bend, flip, and fly through the air, as you see in the video below.

Plus several the virtual shows that are also part of the "Children's Performing Arts at Home Series." Anne of Green Gables is first on the list. It's about when Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert ask an orphanage to send a boy to help with the chores around their farm. Mathew and Marilla are surprised when Anne Shirley, an active orphan with a creative imagination and a desire for a real home shows up, instead of a boy. This show is recommended for children ages 8 and up.

Second on the virtual list is "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler." Finally the third virtual performance is "Chicken Dance" when a barnyard talent contest has all the animals competing just to win a pair of tickets to the 'Elvis Poultry' concert and they all must out-perform the talented ducks, led by Mac, the barn bully.

You can choose to attend the live shows or the virtual shows from the comfort and safety of your own home or participate in both.

For tickets to the Children's Performing Arts Series purchase a single show or for the entire season. Tickets are available at CPAS online.  Get tickets early because the live performances are limited capacity. For more information contact the Cultural Affairs Council 325-677-1161
