Aretha Franklin Wants Halle Berry To Portray Her

Aretha Franklin really does want Halle Berry to play her in a new biopic on the Queen Of Soul.  Halle had been considering it, but may turn it down.

She was asked recently if she would consider the role and said she would...if she could sing.  She indicated that she didn't feel she could do Aretha justice.

Aretha says that doesn't matter.  She feels that Halle would be perfect and could lip sync the singing portions of the film.  You have to wonder whether Berry will reconsider.  No timeline is set for the bio on Aretha Franklin yet.  You can see a lot more detail on the developing story here at the detroit free press website, freep.com.
