Continuing their string of cover songs, Avenged Sevenfold have released a video for their latest, a spin on the Rolling Stones' "As Tears Go By."

The song is the most recent unexpected cover designed to "evolve" Avenged Sevenfold's 2016 album, The Stage. The video shows the band performing "As Tears Go By" in the studio, mixed with candid moments behind the scenes.

You can watch it above.

The song was originally recorded by Marianne Faithfull in 1964, and then appeared on the Stones' 1965 album December's Children (And Everyone's) after showing up as the B-side to the "19th Nervous Breakdown" single.

"As Tears Go By" follows Avenged Sevenfold's other recently released covers, which include the Mexican folk song “Malagueña Salerosa,” Mr. Bungle’s “Retrovertigo,” Del Shannon’s “Runaway” and the Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows.”

“We always want to do covers, but we found it kind of boring to do covers of bands in our genre, and we were always asked to do those,” frontman M. Shadows explained in an interview with Billboard earlier this year. “We said, ‘What do we love?,’ and everyone picked one song each and it came down to those are the songs we felt we wanted to cover.” He also noted that the band enjoys "putting out music in a non-conventional way."

Avenged Sevenfold released The Stage late last year without any advance notice. Months after letting fans hear the original material, the band decided to add cover songs to the album. The Stage is the band's seventh record, a concept album about artificial intelligence. It follows 2013's Hail to the King.
