Legendary Beatles producer George Martin is the subject of a new BBC documentary.  The documentary is currently being produced with much footage shot on the island of Montserrat where George has his legendary AIR studios.

AIR has been the nexus for artists like Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Police,  and many others.

I think it's about time we got an in depth look at one of the great producers in rock and roll history. His influence on popular music can't be overstated.

Martin was known as a comedy producer early on.  Before he was introduced to the Beatles, he worked with Peter Sellers, and the documentary is said to feature some rare footage from that period in his career.  And you can bet there will be plenty of reminiscences about the Fab Four.

No word yet as to when the show might be available for viewing on this side of the pond.  But in all probability it will show up on BBC America.

As far as a timeline, the documentary should air in Great Britain some time in Spring.  We will keep you posted on True Oldies 100.7.
