Bonnie Raitt has new music ready to go for later this year.  In April, Raitt will release her first new album in seven years, titled 'Slipstream'. Bonnie took a long break from recording and touring after the death of her parents, brother, and a close friend.  Raitt says '"I hadn't stopped moving in a very long time, so I really wanted to take a total break and not concentrate on making a new record or what I was going to do next. So that was really valuable because I waited until I was really ready to come back."

According to her, the new album features some 'experimental songs' as well as her trademark blues, rock, and even a little bit of Celtic and Reggae influence.  'Slipstream' will also feature the singer and slide virtuoso's take on the Bob Dylan song 'Million Miles'.  There are 12 new songs to look forward to.  Look for 'Slipstream' in stores and online April 10th, 2012.  You can preorder the new album here at BonnieRaitt.portmerch.com.  Nice to have a Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer, Grammy winner, and Rolling Stone Top 100 guitarist back in action.  Check out a video of Bonnie on 'Something To Talk About'.  What a great slide player: (via CBSnews.com)
