Texas is a breeding ground for famous people. Many successful folks come out of the Lone Star State even close to home. Did you know that Steve Martin lived in Abilene at one time and had a house out in Fairway Oaks? From actors to athletes, there's a bunch of talent that comes from Texas. Unfortunately, it's also the final resting place for many of these famous people.

As a native Texan myself, I was interested to see who was buried in our Great State. With the help of Find a Grave, I came upon quite a list. Everyone was there - athletes, historical figures, politicians, actors, and more. I even noticed some that I had no idea were buried in Texas. See how many of the below you recognize.

Of course, no list is definitive. There are many more notable burials in Texas including politicians, historical figures, and more. As with many Texans, famous or not, I plan on being buried right here in the Lone Star State. There's no other place I'd rather be.

When it comes to famous folks, there were many that we lost in 2022. Look below to see how many you recognize.
