Watch the Eagles of Death Metal Join U2 for a Rousing Paris Appearance

The Eagles of Death Metal took the stage today (Dec. 7) during a U2 concert in Paris, marking an emotional return after the terrorist attacks of Nov. 13.
“We will never give up rock and rolling,” Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes told the crowd, according to Vanyaland. Both bands took part in a cover of “The People Have the Power,” by singer-songwriter Patti Smith, before the Eagles of Death Metal took over to perform “I Love You All the Time” at the AccorHotels Arena. The group urged others to cover and release the latter song, from Zipper Down, in order to raise money for victims of the Paris shootings.
The U2 show, rescheduled in the wake of unthinkable bloodshed, was being taped for future broadcast on HBO. Almost 90 people were killed during an Eagles of Death Metal show at the Bataclan less than a month ago. U2 were also set to play in Paris, before the city lost 129 lives in a single evening of violence.
Rumors of this collaboration had been swirling for some time, leading U2 to issue an official statement advising fans that the Eagles of Death Metal would not be on stage for a show last night (Dec. 6). The Eagles of Death Metal, co-founded by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme (who doesn’t typically tour with the group, and wasn’t at the first Paris show) have said they aim to resume their own European tour early next year.
