Eddie Murphy is on the cover of the new Rolling Stone magazine. He granted an extensive interview to RS and in it he indicates that he's done with family movies and will inevitably do more stand up comedy in the future. Murphy says, "If I ever get back onstage, I'm going to have a really great show for you all. It comes up too much for me to not do it again. It's like, when it hits me, I'll do it, eventually."

Eddie Murphy is obviously content with life these days and says he will only work when the urge hits. "I only want to do what I really want to do, otherwise I'm content to sit here and play my guitar all day. I always tell people now that I'm a semi-retired gentleman of leisure, and occasionally I'll go do some work to break the boredom up."

It looks as if the time to break up the boredom is now. Murphy's visibility has gone up considerably since hosting the Academy Awards earlier this year. He's in a new movie, 'Tower Heist', with Ben Stiller which opens on November 4th. The preview will tell you that the movie just might be really, really funny. And I think that the public at large just might welcome a new Eddie Murphy comedy tour in the near future. Check out the trailer from his new movie 'Tower Heist' below: (via RollingStone.com)
