Ex-NFL Player And Actor Bubba Smith Dies At 66 [VIDEO]

Former NFL star Bubba smith died Wednesday (August 3rd) at his home in California.  He was 66 years old.  Police don't suspect any foul play.  Bubba was a force to be reckoned with.  He played for five seasons with the Baltimore Colts, including 1971 when they won the Super Bowl.  He also played for two seasons with Oakland, and two seasons with Houston.  At defensive end, he was one of the most feared men in football.

But he turned his fearsome image into comedy, playing in a series of commercials for Miller Lite Beer.  He was a natural and went on to get several roles as an actor. The most memorable of those was Smith's portrayal of offficer Moses Hightower in the Police Academy movies.  By all accounts he was a great guy and obviously a gifted football player.  Here's one of Bubba Smith's hilarious commercials:
