J.K. Rowling may be done with the Harry Potter book series, but that hasn’t kept the author from indulging in and expanding its magical universe. Between the upcoming play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, there’s no shortage of new Potter-verse materials arriving this year — but Rowling has another surprise for fans, as the author is releasing FOUR new supplementary stories to help prepare you for Fantastic Beasts.

The news was first announced over at EW, which also revealed the trailer for the series of stories, titled History of Magic in North America:

The stories could easily be educational texts found in schools like Hogwarts and cover the following topics: The wizard school of the United States, Ilvermorny; Skin-walkers, a Native American legend; The Salem witch trials, a formative event for the country’s national magical identity; and the U.S. version of the Ministry of Magic, the Magical Congress of the United States of America.

The first story will debut exclusively on Pottermore tomorrow, March 8, followed by a new story each day for the remainder of the week. These aren’t new Harry Potter stories, but they will help fans connect the dots to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, providing a little magical history to set the stage for Newt Scamander’s adventures in 1920s New York — and appropriately so, as that film is based on a fictional text from the Harry Potter franchise, which Rowling later published as a supplement to her hit book series.

And if you’re really anxious for a new Harry Potter story, the manuscript for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be available to purchase this summer, coinciding with the play’s debut.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol, and hits theaters on November 18.
