‘Foxcatcher’ Trailer: Could Channing Tatum Soon Be an Oscar Nominee?
You haven't quite seen Channing Tatum and Steve Carell like this before. The second teaser trailer for 'Foxcatcher' has arrived, the new dark drama from 'Moneyball' director Bennett Miller, and we're getting pretty pumped about this film.
The latest teaser focuses mostly on Tatum's character, wrestler Mark Schultz, and his drive to become a champion. We also get to see more of Carell looking nothing like the friendly Steve Carell we know and love in the role of John du Pont, his sponsor. The film is based on the true story of Schultz, an Olympic wrestler who gets in over his head when he teams up with du Pont, leading him and his brother, David, to suffer the consequences.
'Foxcatcher' was a hit at Cannes, and although you might presume with the pairing of Tatum and Carell that this is a funny movie, be assured that it's anything but. Although Carell's eccentricities seem to give the film a little bit of dark humor, this is definitely a very unsettling affair. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Michael Hall, Sienna Miller, and Vanessa Redgrave, and hits theaters on November 14 -- just in time for awards season, and judging by what we've seen so far, it seems likely that this one could be a contender for some acting nods.
