Famously erratic actor Gary Busey has been fired from the horror movie 'Mansion Of Blood' for his behavior on the set. According to cast members, Busey was making 'inappropriate comments' and creating a rather unproductive environment. Imagine that.

If you hire Gary Busey for any role, you expect a little off beat behavior. The guy is certifiable, but compelling somehow. He is a frequent and popular guest on talk shows because you never know what he's going to say.

Busey has led an extremely turbulent life. He almost died in a motorcycle accident in 1988. And in fact that accident is likely responsible for his unpredictable behavior. Doctors at the time documented that he sustained brain damage, and he underwent psychiatric treatment. The theory is that the damage causes Busey to have weakened 'mental features', and to speak and act impulsively.

It's a shame really, because Gary Busey has undeniable talent. His starring role in 'The Buddy Holly Story' in 1978 was nominated for, and arguably should have won him an Oscar. If you've never seen the movie, by all means watch it online or on demand. He inhabits the character as no one else possibly could have. He not only played Buddy, but sang all the songs in the movie.

Busey's reps have not given any more detail about the termination from 'Mansion Of Blood' other than to say that Gary considers the matter closed and is moving on. Check out a performance directly from the movie 'The Buddy Holly Story':
