The Grace Museum has an exhibit with works from the Texas Artist Of The Year. But when they booked Mary McLeary, they didn't know that.

The Art League Of Houston just announced the honor earlier this month. The exhibit was booked months ago.

This one is definitely one you should check out. McLeary's works are incredibly labor intensive, with intricate details played out in found objects, string, cords, and more...all individually painted into the art.

She takes a lot of her themes from the Bible, but paints with a modern twist. The depiction of the prodigal son is set at at a Texas Barbeque for example.

Tomorrow, Friday, January 21st McLeary will be here for a gallery tour of the displayed works at the Grace from 11-11:30am. The exhibit will be on display until April 16th. There's a great photo of one of the paintings in the Abilene Reporter news today, Thursday. More on the story here reporternews.com.
